sky hd review

After purchasing Panasonic high definition tv set, the first thing on my brain was how long do I have to wait to receive sky hd put in. I’d already seen high-definition films via my apple tv and was really struck, but I could not keep paying for hired pictures. What I truly wanted is sky, I desired all the movies and I wanted football in HD. I had read umpteen sky hd reviews that I had to simply order the dam thing.

How did I order sky hd

Well I went online and signed up, it took about ten minutes and was fairly pain-free, most of my time was spent combining up the packs, adding and removing – did I really want sky arts. I opted for the sky high def package, the hd pack and the film bundle. It was quite pricey I would now find myself paying barely under sixty pounds per calendar month but would have everything I wanted in high-definition. It took a couple of weeks to get the whole thing set up, I live in apartments and already have a common dish, so the sky set up was just some lad giving me the sky high definition box, and installing it. I could have done this myself, but it was this feller job. It took him about 5 mins, subsequently which he gave me a fast summing up on the features. I just wanted him to leave so I could play with my new toy.

How good is the high definition picture
The high-def picture quality is in a word striking. The best way I can describe it? well, I wear glasses the pictures on a regular television is like viewing without my specs, fuzzy, lack of detail etc. When you experience a high-def image is like wearing the spectacles so much more detail, sharp you start to see things that you would never see on the old picture. I found myself considering what would the matrix look like in high def, before I knew it I was watching all my favourite films again in hd.

Other benefits of sky hd

Well the other major benefit from my point of view is the sound quality. Sky pumps out dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. So, like me, if you have a 5.1 system, I have a sony, can’t recall the model but it cost a lot, then the sound is spectacular.
The remote record feature is also a gigantic feature. It essentially allows you to visit the sky website, view the tv schedule, and record. So if you are at work you can surf the schedule and record at your lesiure, when you get home everything will be sitting inside your sky high-definition box ready to view.

Free broadband – I was a little uncertain about the free broadband. I was with bt, and they had the worst service. I was lucky if I got 1mb download speed, despite many phone calls they never resolved it. When you call bt youre calls are sent to india, where despite their best efforts the staff are just reading from a script. I could never understand what they were saying and got really crossed. So thanks to bt, I decided to choose for the sky broadband and try and save a bit of cash, I was paying bt 20 pounds for the delight of their poor service.

I got the sky hd box working first, and finally got the free broadband a couple of weeks later, as bt were slow in making things happen their end. I was fearing trying the net as I thought it would be slower than bt. To my surprise the connection was a full 2mb, I know this is not the fastest but for me I was jumping with joy.
