Incandescent bulbs can still be found your home
Politicians have been looking to prevent the sale ofincandesant household lightbulbs for many years, and now they’ve finally managed it. The old bulbs were first created by Thomas Edison and theyve been used ever since. They’ve been phased out because they aren’t particularly efficient, because they radiate a lot of energy in the form of heat.
The new solution is the CFL, the compact flourescent lightbulb. The problem with these is that they have not had enough time in development and because of this they are just not good enough for daily use. They are incompatible with dimmer circuits, they will not work well in cold conditions such as in fridges, or exterior lamps in the winter and they may take a long time to come up to brightness. This means that they are a bad solution for stairways, where its essential to have strong light immediately, and also cupboards and other store areas where a lot of light is needed for just a short time.
you can still buy conventional lightbulbs but, they’re classed as industrial lightbulbs, but theyre practically the same as the proper incandescent bulbs. theyre merely a bit more robust. there light bulbs put out a real light, they can be used with a dimmer circuit and they don’t bring on headaches like cfls can. They are produced for the GB market and conform to all safety standards. See them at Realbulb
